I left at about 7:00, and stopped by NCSU to purchase tickets for Gergor's play. The website said the box office was open until 8PM. The sign on the (locked) doors of the building the box office is in says, "Summer hours: Noon - 5PM." Thanks.
I went to the card shop, and bought cards for Sharon (sympathy for her dad), Robert (for love), Gregor (birthday), and Mom & Dad (50th Anniversary).
I went to Wal-mart, and bought Tilex, a photo album with a blue cover, and a box of Snackwell cookies. While waiting for my credit card to clear, the clerk accidently knocked my bag off the counter. She didn't even open it to make sure my photo album hadn't been damaged.
I drove to Crabtree, and about halfway there, started smelling bleach. I opened the bag, which I had laid down on my front seat, and there was Tilex all in it, including all over the photo album.
I returned to Wal-mart, had to wait at the customer service desk in a line, got back with one each of the identical items (except I had to settle for a red photo album as that's all that was left). The guy was in front of me before I even left that area was still waiting for "someone in electronics" to come to the customer service counter. I had to wait while this woman who was exchanging a lunch box rang up her entire shopping cart full of back-to-school items. Then, she asked for "cash back" from her purchase. Then she asked, "Can you give me a 10, 5 and five ones for that twenty?" Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Right after the clerk started ringing up all those items, I interrupted, "Can I just have a bag to take these replaced things?"
"No. I have to ring them up."
"You have to ring them up? They're the same three things I've just returned."
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The manager came, since the clerk at least had enough sense to call her after "no one from electronics" came after three pages, and 10 minutes of the guys' wait. When she heard what I was waiting for she said, "Here, just take a bag."
Finally, someone who has authority, and actually understands customer service.
At Crabtree, I looked for a Verizon and a Nextel booth, neither of which existed. I then looked at the directory, saw "The Wireless Store," or some such name, and decided to try it, hoping it serviced several different wireless vendors.
Evidently it serves no wireless customers, as the store was no longer there. Grrrrrrr.
At home, I transferred the Grand Canyon pictures from the other album to the new one, which holds 300 pictures. I also put in two pictures from our trip to the Charlotte EAGLE over 4th of July weekend (one on the train, and one in the hotel), and Robert's copies of my Tour de Friends pictures. I'm just so pleased with those Grand Canyon pictures, and can't wait to see the ones of Sedona and the cacti along the road!
