Speaking of class, I had totally forgotten about it (in spite of doing homework for it, duh!) when planning this evening's dinner, for which I invited Joe to join Casey and me for Spaghetti (made with spaghetti squash in place of noodles), steamed asparagus, and a salad, so I told Casey in the morning to scratch that idea.
One of the first things I saw in my work e-mail when I got there was an e-mail from the professor of my class saying that he was sick and canceling class tonight. How fortuitous. Well, for me, not so much for him. Fortunately, I had not called dinner off with Joe yet, so I sent Casey an e-mail letting him know that dinner was back on.
Today was our much-anticipated and long-awaited announcement to the university that we are going to be outsourcing our student e-mail to Google. We spent the day in a sort of celebratory mood as we watched the counter of the number of students requesting an invitation to participate in the beta offering, which we're going to make available later this semester. There are around 30,000 students at NC State, and we hope to get around 5000 of them to participate in the beta.
Joe arrived at 6:00 and Casey got home a little after that. The spaghetti squash substitution for spaghetti noodles worked out much better than I thought it would, so that was good. Everything was pretty good and fairly healthy. Just to even it out, Joe had made, and brought with him, some most delicious Betty Crocker brownies, which were enjoyed by all.
As an aside, in the realm of usability, why the dailyburn.com application would describe a serving size of said brownies as: 1/20 of a 9x13 pan is beyond me. Why not something like the formula for volume: l x w x h. 2 inches long by 1.5 inches wide by 1 inch high is so much more easy to visualize than 1/20 of a 9x13 pan. I'm just saying...
Dancing was a ton of fun tonight. I got lots of exercise in, and Casey got a lot of dancing in—well two-steps at least. He watched a lot of line dances. :-)
I enjoyed my two-steps with him, as well as having a designated driver with me. :-) Thanks, Casey!
