All that glitters may not be gold: Gold's 'Grand' Illusion. [I'm going to ignore the 'single quotes' around the word "Grand." According to the style guides I'm familiar with and use, they should be regular, normal double quotes. Single quotes are reserved for words quoted inside a quote, as in this next sentence: But then again, my style guide says, "Do not use the word 'quotes' to mean quotation marks. Use 'quotation marks.' Quotes are the things between the quotation marks." But I digress...]
With all that said and done, my investment remains tenuously in the green.
I had an errand-running lunch:
- I FedExed my blind friend's taxes to her—forty-one freaking dollars to overnight something. Ridiculous. I mean, let's put this in perspective. After my cruise, on April 26th, I'm flying back from Tampa on Southwest, and my flight is $55.00.
- I mailed my own taxes at the Avent Ferry post office.
- I picked up a package at the Lake Dam Road service center that I missed delivery on at my house on Friday—a DVD from my sister.
I had a productive 15-minute one-on-one meeting with my manager today, via phone of course, since she's in Austin.
I met Kevin (av8rdude) at the gym at 4:15. It was lower body day for me, and after that, I did some cardio, during which I listened to my Retro Remix again. Loving that playlist more and more.
