Accents, homework, good slaw, and a request for new tunes...

In my ENG 525 Variety in Languages, a linguistics course, one of the things we're studying is accents.

Please call Stella.  Ask her to bring these things with her from the store:  Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for her brother Bob.  We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids.  She can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station.

Hear a 45-year-old female from Brooklyn read this paragraph.

Hear a 76-year-old female from Plantersville, Arkansas read this paragraph.

And finally, an 18-year-old male from Rimouski, Quebec, Canada.

Today was consumed with COM598M Mobile Technologies & Social Practices homework — reading and preparing the class presentation I have to give on Wednesday.

Robert and I had dinner at KFC with coupons. Man, do we love their slaw.

Dancing went pretty well tonight in spite of Carl, Bill, and Michael's absence. Carl and Bill were in Charlotte at the Eagle for the Fall Hoedown, and Michael was in NYC for Barbra's concert in MSQ.

Van told us that Brigner said, "People are complaining about us always playing the same music to the dances we do." I'm guessing this means the people who work in the bar are tired of hearing it.

To that end, Adam and Van gave me a listing of our dances, and I agreed to try and pick some different songs that we can do various dances to.
