The flat Internet, ending a faith course, a pesky scan, and Sweet Caroline...

I had no idea the Internet was flat!

A "keeper" for my obit collection noting euphemisms for "died":

MR. HENRY WAYNE STRICKLAND, 52, of Raleigh finished his course in faith on Thursday, September 21, 2006 while at Wake Medical Center. Is that the answer to the age old question, "Why do we exist?" Who knew!

I worked from home today, head's down into editing.

At lunch, I ran to the DELTA office to turn in my time sheet, which turned out to be a mess. Multiple e-mails back and forth with Mike in the late afternoon cleared it all up. It would appear that I can't easily note 1.5 hours in terms of start and stop clock time.

I worked on homework all evening, and at 8:00, I drove into the office to transmit my edit to Tracey.

There, I found the combination e-mail-copier-printer-fax machine with a display saying, "COMMUNICATION ERROR."

After dicking around with an alternate machine, up a floor, I managed to scan the book in in 8-files, which I later had to merge back into one. There was also the little tidbit about them being scanned in "backwards," but I'm not going into all that. Suffice it to say, that since it was "duplexed," you could just turn the printed stack "over" and it looked like it was printed in the right order.

I met Kevin (av8rdude) at Flex at 11:00 for Scareyoke.

We closed the place down, with Kevin being the last to sing (Sweet Caroline, while I shouted the chorus parts), with only three other people in the bar.
