Fall Break...

I met with Bill Kratt at 3:30, and signed my updated Will and Powers of Attorney. The three (lady) witnesses came in, and I said enthusiastically, "Aww, thanks for coming!" as if they had a choice. Then I started making faces and twitching, and said, "Yes, I'm totally of sound mind and body."

Once home I updated my other documents (last wishes and identity inventory), and printed off copies to send to Vivian with the copies of the Will and Powers of Attorney. And, finally, I sent an email to Nathan to adjust my beneficiaries so that they are all in line with my wishes. Feels good to have that all done. I will put Vivian's copies in the mail tomorrow.

Donna called at 6:00 to ask if we were still on. I'd totally forgotten about my birthday dinner with her tonight at Red Lobster. We met there at 6:30, and had a delicious dinner and caught up.

The coasters on the tables said, "If these coasters have become the subject of conversation, might we suggest another drink?" Something to that effect. Quite amusing.

Donna gave me the sweetest card, which moved me to tears, as hers usually do. It said:

Cover: Friendship is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts, or measure words. -- George Eliot

Inside: Happy Birthday, my friend.

Hand Written: Dear John, So funny that you sent that "Friend" URL today. I had this card for you already. Out of everything in my life, your friendship is most predictable and appreciated. I know you will always be there for me and vice versa. Thanks for being my friend and Happy Birthday! Love, Donna

How many gay men get cards like that from their ex-wives?

Robert called during dinner, and I checked in with him via AIM once home. He was thinking about going out, and invited me to join him. We agreed, with his estimated time of arrival here at 10:30 or 11:00.

He arrived at 11:00, we got out to Western Blvd, I mentioned that my stomach was upset, and he suggested we go back to the house and work on a crossword puzzle. Perfect idea. We did. And it was. And we MMMMMMMMMMMMMMed. Warm heart. Life is good.

At dinner, Donna asked me how things were going for me, and I said, "Real good. My life is just real good."

"Why is that?" she asked, "Something in particular happening or just everything?"

"Just everything. It's just good." Doing a crossword puzzle with a man I love is part of the everything.
