I got a full eight hours sleep last night—always appreciate when I do that.

With the temperature finally being manageable, and the humidity not being outrageous, I substituted a cardio workout at the gym with a walk around Lake Johnson this afternoon. I listened to a podcast while walking, which I haven't done in a long time.

The podcast I listened to was an episode of The Story called Office Babies, about two women who work in places where they were encouraged to come back to work after their maternity leaves and bring their babies with them. Oh, I so wouldn't want to work in a place like that.

I browned some ground turkey and added some Mongolian beef seasoning to it, and had some of that over a salad of organic baby Romaine lettuce, and some diced pieces of Swiss cheese. Absolutely yummy!

After dinner I did something I don't think I've ever done before in my life. I used some pruning shears and I cut greenery that is growing outside my kitchen window in my air conditioner area. It was some kind of viny stuff, which was entwining itself all around, and in some places up in, my air conditioner, as well as up and around the wires for the cable and electrical boxes along the side of my house.

I know nothing about foliage—nor do I care to know anything about it—so can't tell a weed from a plant. I just tore the shit out of all of it—hacked it and yanked it up out of there. Some of it had some purty little purple flowers on it. Dead, ya know.

At about 8PM, I lay down to read some of The Color of Water, and within about four pages the book was slipping out of my hand. I succumbed to sleep, and woke up at about 10:15, dead to the world.

I checked e-mail, wrote this blog entry, had an instant message conversation with Joe, and then went back to bed to actually stay awake and read this time. I'm enjoying this book. Seriously.
