Kevin (av8rdude) and I met at the gym at 7:30 today, as he left the country for three weeks this afternoon and needed to get his workout in early.

The only thing worse to me than working out that early in the morning, is working out that early in the morning when it's not "Free Bagel Tuesday" at the gym!

Kevin wasn't into it this morning either, as he had pulled an all-nighter so had had zero sleep before going to the gym this morning. After our 45 minutes of strength training (upper body for me), we blew off cardio, and went to Bruegger's for a bagel and coffee instead.

Interesting article in Time magazine: What the Gay Brain Looks Like.

I offer this summarized translation of the following excerpt: Man are pigs. Gay or straight.

Vilain, who studies the genetic factors behind sexuality and sexual orientation, notes that it may turn out that the brains of gay men possess only some 'feminized' structures, while retaining some masculine ones, and this is reflected in how they act on their sexuality. "We know from studies that men, regardless of their sexual orientation, retain masculine characteristics when it comes to their sexual behavior," he says. Both gay and straight men, for example, tend to prefer younger partners, in contrast to women, who gravitate toward older partners. Most men are also more likely than women to engage in casual sex, and to be aroused by visual stimuli.

I worked from home this morning, and participated in a two-hour conference call from 11:00–1:00. That's just too long to be on the phone. Of course, I hate being on the phone for more than two minutes.

I assure you I'm not going to become a meme whore. This one engaged me, because I find it fascinating that all of the men in my family (me, my brother, and my dad) have nice handwriting (and I'm the only one who's gay, so you can't blame it on that).

The meme is to write the following on a piece of paper and scan it in or photograph it and post it:

  1. Your name or username.
  2. Whether you're a lefty or a righty.
  3. The letters you like to write.
  4. The letters you don't like to write.
  5. "The quick brown fix jumped over the lazy dog."
  6. Tag 5 people to propagate the meme.

I dropped off Kevin at the airport for his trip to Europe, and later in the day went for a two-hour walk with @justis.

I had an incredible dinner of a salad consisting of lettuce, grated extra sharp cheddar cheese, topped with marinated ground turkey, marinated in this:

My sister shared an excerpt from an e-mail from our "new-found" cousin with these incredibly affirming words:

Also, and on a much better note, I can honestly say that there are fewer people in this world that I’m more grateful to have met than John.  His wisdom, joie-de-vivre and honesty inspire me after every interaction we have.

At just before midnight, I lay on the couch with a crossword puzzle, and worked on it for ten minutes before waking up at 2AM with it laying on my chest.
