The Philosophy of Hypocrisy and Ambiguity

  1. I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

  2. What if there were no hypothetical questions?

  3. If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation?

  4. Is there another word for synonym?

  5. What do you do when you see an endangered animal eating an endangered plant?

I ran to Barnes & Noble today, where I picked up two DVDs that Robert had ordered for me, which I plan to give out as gifts.

The guy working behind the counter in the music section there had the kind of customer service skills that you wish all people working with the public had.

I stopped at Target, where I bought:

I love the juxtaposition of the diet food and the candy.

I met Christin in Caldwell Lounge, where we spent about 30 minutes discussing the PhD in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Communication in terms of organizing an STC Panel Discussion event about it.

Rhetoric of Science and Technology class was fun tonight. Five people presented on their papers, and we had lots of laughs—from Sandy's paper about your printer killing you to Rebecca's proposed article for Bitch magazine.

After class, I met Joe at Helios, where he worked on work, and I did homework.

There were two lawyers who were knitting next to us the entire time we were there. They talked incredibly loudly—enough that Joe and I both had to put in our earbuds to keep from committing a crime of passion.

I can hear us now on the stand: "We just don't know what came over us. The hate of their constant lawyer-speak; the love of the glimpse into the confidential morsels of the victims and the perps. They wove their stories into a pattern of particulars that tattered our thoughts—until wham. Knit one, pearl murder two."

Joe left at a little after 10:00, and I left just before 11:00, tired of the tediousness of tonight's homework.

This is the first time in a long time that I've missed dancing because of homework, and I'm not pleased about it.

I am coming down with a cold, which I'm not pleased about either. I hate to point fingers, but I'm quite sure I got it from my professor during Monday night's class.
