Robert and I cooked out on the grill tonight.

I marinated several thin slices of chicken breast, and two good-sized Filet Mignons, which I got on sale at the grocery store earlier this week.

Robert cooked those on the grill, while I created a repeat of our salad on Wednesday (cukes, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese) with the added ingredient of an avocado, which Robert had brought.

I've never cut up a fresh avocado before, and I made a royal mess of it. However, I did learn something in the process. Cut it lengthwise, and remove the pit first. Then, slice it up.

We also had some leftover mashed potatoes from Wednesday, and completed the meal with a few slices of cheese bread.

The chicken went right to the fridge for sandwiches tomorrow and Sunday.

It was awl good.

We listened to a couple of podcasts (Onion Radio News and a Slate.com one or two), and finished the crossword puzzle we abandoned on Wednesday night.

After a nap, by yours truly at least, we headed out to the 9:20 showing at The Rialto.

It sucks that this theater doesn't honor seniors and student discounts on Friday and Saturday nights. Fuckers!

The theater was fairly crowded, and we settled in just in time to watch previews of three movies that I'd actually like to see, but none of which can I remember the name.

Tonight we saw:

Plot Summary: Satirical comedy follows the machinations of Big Tobacco's chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son.

I liked this movie pretty much, but didn't love it. It was a nice diversion for an hour-and-a-half, and was cleverly done. It also made you think, which is always a bonus.

Once home, Robert and I did this week's crossword puzzle from The Independent. It was both challenging and rewarding. Which is always a bonus with crossword puzzles.
