We rode out to Garner, where the annual Chili Kickoff was going on. We didn't get there until about 8:30, 8:45 and most folks had left. Steve was there, though, as was Sylvia, Phil, and Spencer, and Steve's mom. His cousin was playing bluegrass as part of the entertainment.
This was the first time I'd seen Sylvia since her cancer diagnosis, subsequent mastectomy, and chemo treatments. She had a floppy hat on, and looked good. She also seemed to be in good spirits.
On the way home we stopped at the drive-thru at Arby's and got Jamocha shakes. Yum!
At home, we listened to a Lily Tomlin comedy CD that Robert had ordered several weeks ago, and had finally arrived. She did a lot of "Ernestine telephone scenes," which were quite funny.
